Outpatient Therapy

Outpatient rehabilitation services can provide innumerable benefits for patients with a range of diagnoses, including:

Outpatient Services

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapists help to improve function. Treatments are designed to strengthen, coordinate and restore muscle activity necessary for walking, wheeling, balance and coordination, as well as aiding in pain control to allow increased function.

Speech Pathology/Therapy

Speech Pathologists evaluate and treat patients whose ability to communicate has been lost or impaired, or who are having difficulty swallowing. They are able to assess swallow function using video and x-ray imaging to visually determine the function of patient’s mechanical swallow and risk of aspiration.

Orthopedic Rehabilitation

We help patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions, including specialized rehabilitation for:

  • Pre- and post-surgical care for hip, knee, and ankle and joint replacement/repair and spine surgery
  • spine care pre/post surgery
  • Musculoskeletal disorders including:
    • Degenerative joint disease
    • Osteoarthritis/arthritic
    • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Orthopedic injury
  • Amputations
  • Head and neck pain
  • Vestibular disorders
  • Sports therapy

Arthritis Aquatic Exercise Program

Class Instruction led by a certified instructor in arthritis-focused aquatic exercise. Classes are about 1 hour in duration and are Monday, Wednesday, Friday @ 10:15am and 11:30am. Participants must complete a registration packet including a portion completed by their physician for medical clearance. Class fee is $5/class.

The Aquatic Facility

The pool is located on the 1st floor at Vibra Hospital of San Diego, and is completely indoors. We have a fully-validated parking garage beneath the building. We have Men’s and Women’s dressing rooms with lockers and showers. A chair lift is available for therapy participants if needed (unavailable for Arthritis Exercise Class). Pool temperature is maintained between 92-96 degrees Fahrenheit for greater therapeutic effects.

Meet Our Therapists

Colin Bowles, PT, DPT, Program Director

Colin Bowles is a native San Diegan, where he attended Point Loma Nazarene University, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training. He then ventured to the other coast for graduate school, earning his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Colin has had a passion for sports and an active lifestyle as long as he can remember. He played intercollegiate soccer, where he earned All-American recognition, and continues to play competitively. This love of sports has guided Colin’s professional career as well. He worked as a staff Physical Therapist at a dynamic, sports medicine facility where he was able to work with athletes from adolescent to Olympic-level who shared his passion for functional fitness and injury rehabilitation. Colin has completed post-graduate training in applied functional rehabilitation and orthopedics. Colin has worked at Vibra Hospital for 10 years. When not at work, Colin loves spending time with his wife, Terra, two kids, Brooklin and Garrett, and family dog, Koda. Coaching sports teams, home improvement projects, outdoors, vacations, and playing soccer help to keep him busy and feeling young.

Brian Lambe, PT, MA

Brian moved to San Diego after completing his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002. With 14 years of direct experience and 20 years working with adults and children with acquired and congenital disabilities, Brian’s primary area of focus is Neurological Rehabilitation. Brian completed over 150 hours of advanced neurological development training and has both NDT and Neuro-Ifra certifications. He has also pursued extensive coursework and training in advanced rehabilitation concepts for: Spinal Cord Injury, vestibular and balance pathologies, TBI/CVA, and prosthetics.

Chelsea Pelletier, PTA

Chelsea is a native of Northern Maine. She attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle, where she earned her Associates in Applied Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Chelsea has experience in areas such as: long term acute care, outpatient, and aquatic therapy. Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys spending time with her husband, Sergiy, and loyal dog Zeus.
